Carl Stone is an electronic music pioneer, a composer, and something of a musical magpie, stealing other people’s recordings and then creating software to create totally new works that use those original sounds in unexpected ways. And he’s been doing it this way since the 1980s. He also has a habit of naming his works after favorite Asian restaurants. Carl Stone is based in Japan but he’ll be in Brooklyn on Sept. 18 to play at Public Records.
